"The Wilde Kind," unfolds within the walls of a British college, where a unique and captivating incident takes place. When a group of well-known students from the college are summoned to serve as witnesses at a hearing concerning their classmate’s alleged misconduct, the entire campus community is left in anticipation, eagerly wondering what will transpire during this unprecedented gathering.
As the story progresses, the audience is introduced to a diverse array of characters, each with their own distinct backgrounds, personalities, and relationships with their sexualities. The Wilde Kind delves deep into the intricate lives of its protagonists, setting the stage for these distinct characters to mix and clash. It explores themes of identity, love, and the complexity of human connection, all against the backdrop of a rigorous, prestigious academic institution. It is a story that captivates the imagination, blending elements of mystery, drama, and historical fiction, while presenting a poignant reflection on the timeless struggle for acceptance and understanding.

MEET THE ARTIST -
Jaimee Doyle
Jaimee Doyle is an actor, writer and theatre maker currently completing their final year at the Victorian College of Fine Arts (Theatre). Jaimee’s focus is in dialogue based performance with queer and historical elements. While at the VCA, Jaimee performed in and devised for ‘Sacred but Flithy’ (dir. Sarah Austin) as well as ‘Rat King or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the ___’ (dir. Katy Maudlin) which was a part of 2021’s Digital Fringe. As a part of the VCA Masters of Writing in-development projects, jaimee performed in the readings of Peter Mountford’s ‘Tangles’ as miss Greene (dir. George Lazaris) and Daniel Tobia’s ‘Flying Termites’ as Holly/Rachel (dir. Virginia Proud) and has participated in the professional development of new works such as The Score with Ilbijerri Theatre and Pram People with Polyglot. Jaimee produced, wrote and starred in their first original play ‘7 Minutes in Hell’ (dir. Charlie Veitch) which played at the Butterfly Club in July 2022. In January 2023 Jaimee produced their second play called ‘The Wilde Kind’ as apart of the Motley Bauhaus Midsumma Festival. They are thrilled to perform a new and revised version of the show at Theatre Work as apart of the 2023 Fringe Festival.
