Thinking Ground
PRESENTED BY THE VOICE IN MY HANDS

27 FEB - 27 MAR | WEEKLY | BOTH VENUES
PRESENTED BY THE VOICE IN MY HANDS
THINKING GROUND is a space for artists to gather, connect, and spend time collectively unpacking our role in responding to current and future social, environmental and political need. This work is grounded in a fundamental belief in our power as a community and our capacity to work together to model new ways of living, gathering and working.
Hosted weekly at Theatre Works by VIMH across February and March, it will build understanding of the role of civic action in creative practice, empowering independent artists to centre the impact for their communities when creating new work.
Taking place in three sections every Friday, these sessions are open to artists and locals to connect, share knowledge, and swap skills. No artistic experience is necessary to participate. If you're interested in these ideas and want to contribute to this conversation, then we'd love to have you.
Free to attend, session registration is now open.

CREDITS

MEET THE ARTIST
VIMH (the voice in my hands) is an independent theatre network based in Naarm. We make our work from scratch, fostering new writing and performance and prioritising work that models community and connection. Our work has included The Grief Trilogy, The View From Up Here by Fiona Spitzkowsky, SIRENS by Benjamin Nichol, and Ballkids (or, scenes from a friendship). Between them, these shows have earned 18 Green Room Award nominations, winning Outstanding Writing for Independent Theatre three times. We have an artist gathering practice, where experimentation feels safe, creativity is supported, and collaboration is rigorous and inclusive. We are committed to best practice in every aspect of our work.
