The Vegetable Plot

3 - 5 OCTOBER | THEATRE WORKS
devised and performed by luke escombe, paige hoorweg, nick hoorweg and kay yasugi
Enter the Pajamazon Jungle with The Vegetable Plot in their award-winning musical comedy packed full of veggie bangers, rotten jokes and irresistible ear worms.
Beloved Aussie kids band The Vegetable Plot first sprouted at the 2014 Sydney Fringe, winning the award for Best Children's show. Since then Aspara Gus, Ru Barb and Sir Paul McCarrotney have travelled all over Australia, playing their funky-fresh tunes, spreading Love and Peas and serving up a big wriggling heap of truly rotten puns.
In 2022 the band teamed up with acclaimed puppeteer Kay Yasugi (aka Avo Kaydo) to bring new levels of artistry and silliness to their live show, adding fresh zing to classic veggie bangers like Avocado, Mango and Spanish Onion, and once again taking home the Fringe Kids award for Best Children’s Show.
Now part of the ABC Kids music family, with listeners in over 150 countries, multiple international awards, an ARIA nomination and millions of Spotify streams to their name, The Vegetable Plot has grown into that rare thing: a "kids band" that adults enjoy listening to just as much as the kids.
Returning to Melbourne for the first time in more than five years, they invite you to journey with them to a wild and very silly place they call “The Pajamazon Jungle”. Enter if you dare, but watch out, there are earworms everywhere!
