Uncle Vanya
VENUE
by anton chekhov
Multi-award winning and neurodivergent director Bronwen Coleman (Dirt, Naomi), along with the Anthropocene Play Company, breathe immediacy and new life into Chekhov’s classic study of the complication, hilarity and heartbreak of human relationships.
Returning to the family’s country estate with his gorgeous, much younger wife, a wealthy Professor is by turns adored and resented by the extended family that supports him. Both comic and tragic, Uncle Vanya gives us evidence of a master writer at the top of his form.
Known for the “the power and technique”(The Age) of their acting, audiences can expect to see “Melbourne’s finest actors” (Theatre Travels) in this thrilling new interpretation of a treasured classic.
