Sustainable Theatres Australia Forum

VENUE

with ang collins, julian dibley-hall, bonnie leigh-dodds, liv satchell, christian taylor, clemence williams and grace nye-butler

This forum is an invitation to the indie theatre community to come together and reflect on what we are doing and what we can do better to make our theatre a sustainable practice.

THE DAY

SESSION ONE

10.00AM-10.30AM: Welcome

Acknowledgement of Country and an introduction to STA (who we are and what we're hoping to offer the sector as a small crew of passionate volunteers).

10.30AM-11.30AM: Sustainability in Practice

A panel of passionate and educated makers, movers and shakers to help us explore the different ways that sustainability and creative practice might encounter each other. See STA’s social media in the coming weeks for our speaker line-up, as well as information about live-streaming.

11.30AM-11.40AM: Break

11.40am-12.20pm: Green Guides

A presentation session on STA’s Green Guides led by creator Christian Taylor. Each guide is a starting point, chock-full of tips, provocations and frameworks to get you thinking about how to make your arts project more environmentally friendly.

12.20pm-1pm: Lunch

This might be the end of the forum for some of you, depending on your availability and/or needs. We encourage everyone to engage in a way that suits them best.

SESSION TWO

1pm-3pm: Green Guide Workshop

This workshop will allow a practical breakdown of the Guides and how they might be applied to your own creative practice and projects. Participants will be able to work one-on-one or in small groups with STA facilitators to match their needs to these resources.

STA are working with very limited resources but want to make this Forum accessible to as many people as possible. We understand that Explosives Factory may not be accessible for some people so we've decided to run a live-stream of the morning sessions.

The morning sessions of the Forum, up until Lunch, will be live-streamed. To join the live-stream please follow this link from 9.55am on Saturday, 20th May: https://rb.gy/0u5e0

Unfortunately, we can't live-stream the practical Green Guide session after lunch but if anyone is interested in having a discussion with an STA member about how to apply the Green Guides to their own practice please just drop us an email at sustainable.theatres.aus@gmail.com
