VENUE
by Born in a Taxi
Born in a Taxi forges new frontiers into real time composition. A live ‘study’ into performance, risk, improvisation, and audience-performer reciprocity.
Edgy and immediate, intuitive and responsive. Virtuosic technique meets the abyss, taking the audience on a ride through the unfathomable mysteries of the unconscious. Experimenting with the intersections of movement, text, sound and music, rigorous practice meets the expectations of an empty space with the masterful skill of shaping the unconscious.
Each show is completely different.

MEET THE ARTIST -
Born in a Taxi
Born in a Taxi are one of Melbourne’s most highly regarded physical theatre ensembles and creators of contemporary performance. Renowned for their immediacy, responsiveness and interaction with their audience, mixing dance with humour, the profound with the profane and the familiar with the unlikely. Their diverse performance backgrounds and trademark methodology in ensemble movement improvisation have created a cross-disciplinary style that inhabits the nexus between theatre and dance.
