8 - 22 JULY | THEATRE WORKS | BY THEATRE WORKS
by michael gow
The team behind Theatre Works 2022 hit, MEDEA: Out of the Mouths of Babes bring to life Australia’s most-loved play Michael Gow’s Away.
A uniquely Australian look at small families and their epic stories, Shakespearean in structure but deeply personal in tone, Michael Gow’s Away is a masterpiece of Australian writing that explores how we as Ozzies living in a tropical paradise, endure all of our storms.
At the peak of summer 1967, the Vietnam War continues, we follow three separate suburban families as they pack-up their prawns and head for the Gold Coast to celebrate Christmas until a seemingly magical tempest enmeshes them, only to fall apart, fall together and fall in love.
Directed by award-winning Director, Steven MItchell Wright, Theatre Works’ Away promises to be a highlight on all of our 2023 theatrical calendars.
