As part of the upcoming series of THINKING GROUND workshops, The Voice in My Hands are taking Expressions of Interest for their VIMH Project Design Pathway. Check out their full pathway brief below:
We are offering a special project stream to our upcoming THINKING GROUND at Theatre Works across Feb-March, which will give you the chance to work with VIMH to develop a new idea across 2026.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING TO SUPPORT?
In exchange for attending THINKING GROUND, we are inviting interested participants to get in touch with us about a 'public interest' project you are keen on getting support for throughout the year.
What do we mean by 'public interest'? This might include:
- A space or platform you are hoping to set up and/or create for a particular group of people to gather and connect (and maybe do particular activities, learn particular skills, etc).
- An art work using ritual/ceremony/other performance frameworks to help people celebrate/process change/express feeling.
- A program that is responding to a particular need you have identified amongst the people you love and/or your community more broadly.
These are just examples - we are keen to support anything geared towards bringing people together and/or using creativity at such a critical local and global moment.
THE OFFER
We can offer project mentorship across 2026 for six artists, which will include sessions on:
- Project development: blue sky dreaming, identifying and responding to need effectively, and how to ensure your capacity and resources can put your idea into practice.
- Project sustainability in collaboration with Sustainable Theatres Australia, focused on how to build environmental care into your idea from its outset.
- Financial strategy and planning, including brainstorming and feedback on grant applications.
- Assistance in developing and undertaking a prototype session to road-test your idea.
THE EXCHANGE
Attendance at our upcoming THINKING GROUND collaboration with Theatre Works, which will take place across five sessions in February and March. This will give you the opportunity to start planning your project with us and a community of like-minded artists, whilst contributing your thoughts to our ongoing discussions on civic and creative practice.
This EOI has a rolling intake up until the first THINKING GROUND session (Fri 27 Feb). We will have conversations as we receive these expressions of interest, rather than causing undue stress with a hard deadline or competitive framework. Have any questions, or want to send us an EOI another way? Just shoot us an email at thevoiceinmyhands@gmail.com.

Got recommended Arena King by a coworker and the strategy games on there are pretty engaging. You can sink a surprising amount of time into the kingdom-building ones. Runs well in the browser without needing to download anything.
Submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) Space Waves allows applicants to outline their design ideas, goals, and motivations for participating in the program.
I like Friday Night Funkin for its personality, where quirky humor and expressive foes make each battle feel distinct and entertaining.
This opportunity from Theatre Works really inspires me! It’s not just about submitting ideas — it’s a chance to be part of a community https://www.tintfit.com/shop/conservatory-roof-plastics of creative people who think through new projects together and develop them in a supportive environment. I love that Thinking Ground offers not just “make a project,” but a special pathway to grow ideas with other participants, sharing experience and inspiration. I feel this is exactly the place for those unafraid to experiment and eager to create something truly new and alive in independent theatre. This initiative motivates you to try and move forward.
Thinking Ground Design Pathway is a cool initiative: mentoring, prototypes, focus on community projects, and sustainability. I once tried to launch a local eco-forum, but got bogged down in a chaos of ideas and a lack of resources — everything fell apart. I switched to arbitration, starting with Tier 3 geo: cheap, fast, low competition — the first profits restored my confidence and discipline. Now I understand how Tier 1-3 countries work differently to maximize profits. If you want to practice strategic planning through real cases, open page — it breaks down geo, verticals, and optimization. This approach helped me structure my ideas and not abandon projects halfway through.
