COVID-19 SAFETY & WELLBEING

Theatre Works is committed to re-opening and operating to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our stakeholders: our artists, audiences, employees, partners, donors and funders. 
 

We are committed to the development and implementation of COVID-Safe policies that meet or exceed the conditions set out in Chief Health Office Public Health Directions (PHDs) as released from time to time by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services.

 

We have implemented a Covid-Safe plan that we ask you to comply with when visiting Theatre Works.:

QR code sign-in
To get in, you must sign in! All visitors must register using our QR codes provided upon entry and show the theatre staff on their phones that they have signed in and at that point their digital vaccination certificate. Our friendly staff will be available to help those who need assistance to check in.

Face masks
It is currently a Government directive that all patrons aged 8+ years must wear a face mask whilst inside our venue this includes while seated viewing the show. For this reason, drinks are not permitted in the theatre however our bar will be open 1 hour before the show with service from the window and seating in the forecourt area. We ask that you gather your group together for a drink and we will call you in for entry to the theatre checking you in by venue QR code, validating vaccination status and scanning tickets. Access to the toilets is always available inside the bar. Free face masks are available from our box office if you require one - just ask our friendly box office team.


Proof of vaccination

Theatre Works is a fully vaccinated venue. Please note it is a Government directive that all patrons aged 18 years and over must show proof of their COVID-19 vaccination status as a condition of entry to our venue. There are five types of evidence that will be accepted:
 

1. COVID-19 Digital Certificate via the Service Victoria app

2. COVID-19 Digital Certificate saved to your smart phone

3. Printed copy of COVID-19 Digital Certificate

4. Printed copy of Immunisation History Statement

5. Medical Exemption
 

Venues have the right to ask for additional identification alongside a COVID-19 Digital Certificate if it is provided as a hard copy.
 

We ask that you are kind and patient with our staff and each other as we work together to keep our community safe.  

Show cancellations

In the event that a performance or a show is cancelled due to Covid-19, ticket holders will be contacted by Theatre Works with the following options: 
- receive a full refund

- exchange tickets to a different performance/ show

- donate the cost of tickets to the artists involved. 

If you have tested positive to Covid-19 or have been identified as a close contact, the same aforementioned options apply. Do not hesitate to contact our box office at admin@theatreworks.org.au

These settings will be reviewed regularly and adjustments will be made to our 2022 policies as required.
