SOMETHING BLEW is a response to current lifestyle choices we have noticed. As young people who are in the midst of sexual relationships and finding companionship, we were intrigued by the old English proverb “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”.

For this work we have explored the facets of what the colour blue represents; Purity, love, modesty and fidelity. SOMETHING BLEW invites us into a series of complications within relationships regarding confusion about sexuality, perversity, isolation and inner-turmoil. Over the 60 minutes our seven dancers will unfold every portion of how modern society accepts sexual freedom, adultery and betrayal and how this contradicts, neglects and abuses the origins of the ancient saying.
