21 September – 8 October 2005
CHIEF CONCUBINE traces the metamorphosis of Blue as she descends from a mystery mountain tribe into modern worlds of passion and progress. A refugee in her own stolen lands, she is sold unwittingly to a border brothel and escapes to enter the carnival of consumerism. Donning suit and tie, shedding blindfold and burkha, Blue is on the run through a cinematic world of archetypes and alternatives.
Caught in the crossfire as gunshots shatter Burma’s freedom and world war returns, Blue survives the burnout of activist idealism to discover something ancient and eternal in Elders’ eyes at the Tent Embassy. A brave global tribe emerges to bring humanity home.
