5 – 22 December 2007

Of all Shakespeare’s plays, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM remains the most enduring and accessible for all ages, with it’s tale of frustrated lovers, fairy warfare, potent, love-inducing flowers, transformation, and enthusiastic amateur actors - the ‘mechanicals’.

A perfect pre-Christmas treat for the whole family. Director Glenda Linscott (Prisoner, Murder Call) brings her acclaimed VCA production back to Melbourne to delight audiences young and old, and present, in their first professional production, 14 new and exciting young actors from VCA’s Company 2007.

Renowned TV and stage stars, Danielle Carter (Underbelly, City Homicide, Holly’s Heroes, Stingers, The Secret Life of Us, Something in the Air) and Andrew Blackman (A Country Practice, Neighbours, and Artistic Director: Complete Works Theatre Co.) head the cast in the lead roles of Titania and Oberon.

Step into the wood, slide onto the bank where the wild thyme blows and slip into the passion, humour and sensuous pleasure that is A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM.
