16 - 25 NOVEMBER | THEATRE WORKS | WITH THEATRE WORKS
Every Lovely Terrible Thing
VENUE
by adam fawcett
If you can stand up to your family,
you can stand up to anyone.
Widowed matriarch Jerica just wants to sell the decaying family home and go on her cruise. Her conservative son Charles wants to win back his seat from the latest teal independent. His wife Phoebe doesn’t know what she wants… except that it’s probably not Charles. Their genderqueer, Twitch-streaming son Coop wants a relationship with enigmatic tradie Lachie, who just wants to finish repairing Jerica’s house – maybe.
And now Jerica’s estranged daughter Brit has returned home with a secret so big it threatens to tear the whole family apart.
A universal tale of love, courage and intergenerational trauma, Every Lovely Terrible Thing boldly examines why families stay together – and what happens when they can’t…
