Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth, known as Wuxing, are the basic elements making up how the Chinese traditionally understand the world. The interactions between the five elements are believed to exist in between and inside everything, including human beings.
A group of overseas artists who live and work in Australia explore the co-existence and collaboration between contemporary dance and this old cognition of Wuxing in five days of performances, with each performance responding to one of the five elements.
Can the interactions among Wuxing still be valid in the modern world? Come and check out how the five elements generate and overcome each other in this series of five experimental dance performances.
