At Theatre Works, one of our key values is accessibility. We are committed to removing the barriers to participation and high ticket prices are one of the biggest barriers that prevent audiences from experiencing theatre across the board.
To break down this barrier, and to make Theatre Works’ shows, artists and programs accessible to everyone, we will be offering $20 tickets for each performance of every show across the entire year.
A handful of seasons will have an allocation of 20 tickets per performance at $20, but for most of our 2020 programming, there will be no full price, concession or student denominations at checkout. $20 tickets will be the sole ticket option.
Single ticket for any show: $20.
For some shows, after the first 20 tickets are sold, ticket prices are: $45 Adult | $37 Concession* | $30 Student/Under30s
All tickets incur a $2.50 booking fee (*) Seniors, pensioners, MEAA members (**) Must have full-time student or MEAA card
Tickets can be purchased online up to one hour before the performance, by phone between 10am and 3pm Monday to Friday or at the venue 30 minutes before the performance, subject to availability.
Please note there is a $2.50 booking fee per ticket when booking online or by phone. Each patron must have their own valid Theatre Works ticket and will need to submit this ticket to the Usher at the theatre door before gaining entry to the performance. Due to the intimate nature of the theatre space most shows have a strict no latecomer policy and ticket holders will not be admitted into the theatre after the performance has commenced. Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded due to late arrival. We recommend that you arrive at the theatre at least 15 minutes prior to the performance.
Theatre Works endeavours to include accurate content warnings, however, some production content does change within the rehearsal period and we encourage you to visit our website or call the Box Office before the show opens for up-to-date warning information. Warning signs will also be placed in the theatre foyer.
Tickets can be exchanged up to 48 hours before your performance date. All exchange requests must go to email@example.com with your order number and requested date change.
Tickets can be exchanged for a different performance date of the same production. We are unable to offer exchanges into a different production.
If you select new tickets that are more expensive than your original ones, you will be charged the difference in the ticket prices.
All exchanges are subject to ticket availability. Tickets cannot be exchanged for sold out productions.
Theatre Works follows the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice (see liveperformance.com.au for conditions). As such, tickets cannot be refunded after purchase except if an event is cancelled, rescheduled or significantly relocated as outlined.
INFORMATION REGARDING CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
Ensuring the safety of our audiences, artists and employees is our greatest priority.
Theatre Works is closely monitoring the situation and will act promptly on any updated advice from the Australian Government Department of Health. Theatre Works is also acting on advice from Live Performance Australia (LPA) which is the peak body for the live performance industry.
Theatre Works is putting a number of precautionary measures in place including increased venue cleaning frequency particularly in high traffic areas. We are also ensuring staff are regularly informed about the developing situation and have made hospital grade hand sanitiser accessible to all staff and visitors.
IF YOU ARE A TICKETHOLDER
It is at your discretion whether you attend the theatre. Present measures are precautionary and we are guided by advice from Live Performance Australia (LPA) which states that refunds will not be issued for discretionary non-attendance.
Australia’s Chief Medical Officer has advised COAG that all gatherings of more than 500 people should be banned. Theatre Works’ capacity sits below this number, even with a full complement of staff and artists.
The Australian Government Department of Health is regularly updating isolation advice. Theatre Works staff are following this advice and we ask that our patrons adhere to the same guidelines.
If you are a patron requesting a ticket exchange or return based on medical advice that you should be isolated, your request will be approved. Please cite this reasoning and provide a Doctor’s note to support your return request to the Box Office.
